I almost got hacked again. This time it could've been much worse.

You may remember back in late May when my old phone (this was before I got my Z Flip 5) got hacked from public Wi-Fi, and while I was able to recover everything within a day, it still had a a bit of an impact.

However, hackers don't stop that easily. On September 12, someone attempted to access my Google account using my password. Although they got my password correct, they got stopped by 2 step verification. This happened at 4AM, so I changed my password as soon as I saw this and decided to implement better security practices.

They didn't stop there. After this, they decided to fill my email box with ridiculous phishing emails, claiming that someone from another country had succeeded in accessing my account. Then, shortly after 1AM on October 4th, they attempted to brute-force their way into my Google account, only to unintentionally lock the account login from their devices.

That was the last straw. On September 10th, I decided to invest in a pair of Yubikeys, both of which arrived between September 12th and October 4th.

My hope is this is the last time this year I talk about getting hacked.
